Understanding some of the basic rules the professionals use will help you pack. Prior to becoming accredited pre-packers, our staff must competently pack cartons to withstand a 2 metre drop test with no damage. We certainly don’t expect nor require your packing to be of this standard. But sharing some of our experience and training is what we’re all about, ensuring your next move to be as relaxed as possible. "Let us feather your nest."

If choosing to pack yourself, you'll need to arrange packing materials and cartons (we can advise, arrange and deliver these to your door upon request). Removal cartons are designed specifically for transporting your smaller, more delicate items safely. They're strong and are of uniform size and shape, which is extremely important during the transportation of your furniture and personal effects. Following are our packing and dangerous goods guidelines. Please take the time to read this, as they detail the finer points to packing and items prohibited for transport.

Before we can ship your goods, we require that you download the Dangerous / Prohibited Goods PDF, print and sign the document, and return it to us either by facsimile or by scan and email.

Useful Packing Tips and Guidelines

Use proper removal cartons. This will make your job easier, your items will be safer, and your move will be completed more time efficiently.
Tea/chest cartons are used to pack the majority of your house hold content and shouldn't exceed 30kg total.
Book and wine cartons are used to pack all heavy items (i.e. books, wine, pantry items, garage tools etc).
Tape the bottom of cartons, (using a good quality removal tape) making a cross overlaying the edges from side to side.
Be conscious of posture, using bench / table tops as work stations. Elevate cartons off ground level to minimize back strain.
Layer the bottom and sides of each carton with scrunched up wrapping paper or linen to act like a cushion.
Individually wrap breakable items in paper. The more fragile the item, the more wrapping is required.
For delicate items, you can use a combination of wrapping or tissue paper and bubble-wrap.
Place items in carton starting with heavier items on the bottom and lighter items towards the top.
Stack flat items (ie. plates, pictures, cd's) upright on their edge, glasses and cups should be packed upside down.
Make sure each layer is packed snug, if there is any movement fill holes with scrunched paper.
As you finish packing each layer of the carton start with another bed of scrunched up paper or linen.
Leave enough room on top of the carton for a further layer of scrunched up paper or linen, making it firm to close carton.

Mark and his team were instrumental in the smooth opening of at least 35 holiday apartments at Blue C.
